Verhoeven's work is always fun to look at it. What's far shoddier is the story itself; it starts poorly and grows progressively worse, finally collapsing into an ending that is so laughably dreadful that I don't want to ruin it.

It feels like he wanted to create a sci-fi movie but eventually ended up with something more along the lines of a horror movie.It's not a bad film but it could've been better in terms of its storyline.
