Carnegie Hall, Greenbrier Valley Theatre, and Greenbrier Valley Chorale present The Hunchback of Notre Dame, on:

Thursday, July 25, at 7:30 p.m.

Friday, July 26, at 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, July 27, at 7:30 p.m.

at Carnegie Hall.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is the first-ever community-wide arts collaboration between Greenbrier Valley Theatre, Carnegie Hall, and Greenbrier Valley Chorale. This spectacular staged concert version features over 50 performers, including nationally recognized actors, professional choreography and lighting, and a full chorus, all on the Carnegie Hall stage.

Based on the Victor Hugo novel and songs from the Disney animated feature, The Hunchback of Notre Dame showcases the film's Academy Award-nominated score, as well as new songs by composers Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. Menken composed music for The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Enchanted, just to name a few. Schwartz scored and composed music for Godspell, Wicked, Pocahontas and The Prince of Egypt, among others. Peter Parnell's new book embraces story theatre and features verbatim passages from Victor Hugo's novel.

Rated PG: Suggestive themes and depictions of violence.

Sherlock Holmes has been delighting fans on page, screen, and stage since the late 1800s. To open the 2024 season Greenbrier Valley Theatre is bringing the famous detective to life on Friday, May 10 for audiences to enjoy in an adaptation of one of Holmes most notorious mysteries.

Author Ken Ludwig wrote Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery in 2015, and introduces fast paced wit and humor to the classic case.

“This play really has so many elements that will entertain a wide audience base,” Director Jenna Sulecki said. “There is obviously the mystery that comes with any great Sherlock Holmes story, but Ken Ludwig’s adaptation adds a lot of humor, creativity, and pure silliness, as well.”

Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery requires three of the five actors to play more than 30 different characters that are a part of Holmes and Watson’s adventures. This requires many quick costume changes, silly voices, and a lot of physicality.
