My SB6141 keeps rebooting a few times a day. I’ve called my ISP to make sure it’s not something on their end and they said it looks like the modem is trying to get an update, fails to get it and then reboots.
Once it reboots everything works great. Speed is fine and all lights are normal.
Any advice on how to get the update to finish or cancel the process completely so the modem stays up?
Thanks!

Hellochtrich,
I’d suggest doing a Factory Reset since the issue might be a previous firmware version installed by your service provider. Doing it will ensure that the new version is pushed correctly to the device.
To do it, you can follow these steps:
Resetting the SB6141
- Disconnect the coaxial cable from the modem.
NOTE: If the SB6141 is connected to a router, it is recommended to disconnect the router and connect the SB6141 directly to a computer with an Ethernet cable.
- Power cycle the modem by disconnecting the power cord for 10 seconds, then reconnectthe power cord.
- Launch a web browser, such as Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Safari. Enterhttp://192.168.100.1into the address box. TheStatuspage appears.
- Click theConfigurationlink on the top menu. TheConfigurationpage appears.
- Click theReset All Defaultsbutton (as shown below).
NOTE:If the Reset All Defaults button is not present, disconnect the coaxial cable and then power cycle the modem.
After the modem is rebooted repeat step 1 -2 and the Reset All Default button is present. - When asked,Do you want to proceed?,click theOKbutton.
- Connect the coaxial cable to the modem.
NOTE:The initialization processmay take 5 to 30 minutes.

Thank you. I tried that, but the problem still persisted. I ended up just getting a new modem since this one is old and doesn’t even support my new internet speed.
